Air Lipsia is a newly established German based Regional airline with a base at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Central/Eastern Germany. It currently serves two destinations - Brussels and Prague - however in the future Günter Karch (the airline CEO) hopes to serve other destinations such as London with a leased Boeing 737-500. Brussels (served twice daily on weekdays) has been chosen by Air Lipsia as it is the "capital" of Europe, and many onward destinations are available. Prague has been chosen in co-operation with Czech Airlines which will control the onward connections as Prague is their Hub. [1]

The name Air Lipsia comes from the old Latin/Italian name for Leipzig. Lipsia today is the Italian name for Leipzig. Air Lipsia is a full-service airline with complementary catering as well as luggage included in the price of the ticket.
